Minna– On Thursday, December 2, a former Senate President and Secretary to Government of Nigeria, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, was received in a private audience by two Nigerian leaders.
The presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) took to his Facebook page to confirm the news of his visit to the leaders in their Minna home, Vanguard reports.
Anyim also accompanied it with pictures in a Facebook post shared by his support group, Nigerians Ask for Anyim and sighted by Legit.ng.

According to Anyim, he held discussions with the leaders regarding his presidential race come 2023.
He wrote:
“I met with former President Ibrahim Babangida and former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar. I consulted with them on my intention to contest for the presidency of our beloved country. Both leaders are rich in vision and deep in the grasp of our history. They were generous with their wise counsels.
“I am further emboldened in the conviction that I can make significant contributions in our collective quest to consolidate democracy, build a stronger and more united Nigeria.
“I feel very enriched and invigorated. Long live Nigeria.”
It would be recalled that the Senator recently met with the chief whip of the Senate, Sen Orji Uzor Kalu who is a top APC chieftain believed to be aspiring to be Nigerian president under the platform of APC.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Anyim declared that he will contest for presidency in 2023.
Anyim who is also a former Senate president said he will contest for the position whether his party, PDP, zones the presidential ticket to the southeast or not.
His words:
“We currently have less than 18 months to the next elections, and I feel the time is ripe to indicate my interest.”
