The 2021-22 season was a disastrous one for the Los Angeles Lakers. There wasn’t very much to get excited about, as they went 33-49 and didn’t even qualify for the NBA Play-In Tournament. However, one bright spot throughout the season was Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony finally got a chance to team up with LeBron James and was hoping to win a championship alongside his friend. While they fell short of that goal, Anthony did have a very good individual season.
He proved yet again that despite getting up there in age, he can still get a bucket when needed. Never being overly reliant on athleticism, Anthony still possesses killer footwork that twists defenders into pretzels when he is working in the post and mid-range. His 3-point shooting has also gotten more consistent as his career has gone on.
Last season with the Lakers, Anthony averaged 13.3 points in 26 minutes per game. He made 44.1 percent of his shots overall and 37.5 percent of his 3-pointers. He also pulled down 4.2 rebounds and handed out one assist as well.

A consistent source of points off the bench, Anthony would still be a great fit for several teams. He can carry the offense for stretches when need be but has accepted a smaller role to extend his career after seemingly being blackballed from the league.
Where could we see him playing during the 2022-23 season? Here are three ideal late-free agency spots for Carmelo Anthony to land.
