It’s one thing to have assets. It’s a whole other thing to have expendable assets. The NBA is a prime example of this.
Let’s say you want a diamond ring. You don’t have enough money in the bank to buy it. Sure, you could sell your house for the money…but you probably shouldn’t.
The Philadelphia 76ers have plenty of assets. Between James Harden, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, they’ve got one of the most talented trios in the NBA.
Expendable assets, on the other hand, are a different story.
The Sixers are light on those. This team has already sent out most of its draft capital. It’s also short on intriguing young players – outside of Maxey, who they surely wouldn’t trade unless an irresistible offer came their way.
