Five people from Quebec face more than 100 charges after Durham Regional Police began looking into an alleged organized auto theft trafficking group operating in the Greater Toronto Area in June.

The group was identified by Project Egypt, an offshoot of Project Attire, and on Sept. 17, a search warranted was executed at a Mississauga residence where five suspects were arrested and offence-related property seized including including eight stolen vehicles.

One previous search warrant in Quebec resulted in the identification of approximately 25 stolen vehicles that were re-vinned.
Shainna Faustin, 32, and Jean-Junior Goureille, 24, are charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, five counts each of traffic in property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking exceeding $5,000, four counts each of theft of motor vehicle, and fail to comply with probation order.

Faustin is also charged with fail to comply with release order and Goureille with a second count of fail to comply with probation order.
Kyle Cain, age 22, is charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, eight counts of traffic in property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking exceeding $5,000, seven counts of theft of motor vehicle, two counts of disguise with intent and one count each of possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace and trespass at night.
Dylan Chimusorot, 19, is charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; seven counts of traffic in property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, nine counts of possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking exceeding $5,000, six counts of theft of motor vehicle; one count each of attempt theft exceeding $5,000, disguise with intent and possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace and two counts of trespass by night.

Joshua Jean-Louis, 24, is charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, eight counts each of traffic in property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking exceeding $5,000, and four counts of theft of a motor vehicle.
Project Attire is a Durham Regional Police response to Ontario’s Preventing Auto Theft Grant program, which is designed to support new and enhanced crime-fighting measures.

MAN INJURED IN AJAX CRASH IDENTIFIED
The injured male involved in the single motor vehicle collision at Kitney Dr. just north of Clements Rd. W. in Ajax has been identified by Durham Regional Police.
Police said the man in question wasn’t wearing a helmet and had no ID when he lost control of the Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2 as he was riding northbound along the east side of the roadw on Tuesday around 3:15 p.m.
He suffered a serious head injury as a result and was taken to a local-area hospital in life-threatening condition and then air lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he remained unconscious and in critical condition.
