At least six African migrants have been reported dead after their boat sank in the Meditteranean sea.
The boat, according to local Algerian media reports monitored by African Entertainment, sank off the coast of Algeria on Monday, August 8, 2022.
Aside those reported dead, dozens other migrants have been reported missing.
However, six survivors have reportedly been rescued while the search for an unspecified number of missing people continues.
African Entertainment understands that the migrants are from various sub-Saharan African countries and were attempting to reach Europe.
Data from authorities in Algeria shows that at least 2,350 would-be migrants have been rescued or intercepted in the first seven months of 2022 off the coast of Algeria.
