Agnes Love Foundation Puts Smiles On the faces of widows

As part of efforts to help put a smile on the faces of the aged and widows, Agnes Love Foundation in collaboration Abena Tay Ministries has taken another judicious step by organizing an event dubbed: ‘Kyere Wu Do.’

‘Kyere Wu Do’ in Akan parlance means to show your love.

In an interview with the Founder of Agnes Love Foundation, Lady Rev. Dr. Abena Tay, she noted the event was set aside to show love to the aged and widows.

According to her, many of them are experiencing difficulties in life as a result of the demise of their husbands. They are drawn into the struggle for survival.” This she said has made life unbearable for them.

So, this evening, we’re holding a “Love feast and carol service” to entertain them while also inspiring them to be strong.

The program, which will be held in grand style, will attract notable gospel ministers to thrill the patrons.

As part of the event, we are also feeding over 100 widows and the aged as well as distributing food and cash to them to help put a smile on their faces throughout the festive season,” she disclosed.

More so, we have also presented cash, clothing, beverages, and water to the Mama Zimbi Foundation this morning to assist her in reaching out to other widows under her umbrella.

Lady Rev. Dr. Abena Tay, however, appealed to other benevolent organizations to support the Agnes Love Foundation in order to help address the plight of the vulnerable in society.

Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi (Mrs), Founder and Executive Director of Mama Zimbi Foundation expressed her excitement upon receiving the items and commended the Agnes Love Foundation for its thoughtful gesture.

However, she bemoaned the manner in which widows are being treated; stressing that widows are still battling with several taboos, making life uncomfortable for them.

“Sadly, these widows are burdened with the responsibility of single parenting, which has plunged them into extreme poverty.” This is a heinous crime. “It’s high time for us to get rid of this mindset and show them our support,” she said.

She also urged the government and other corporate bodies to pay attention to women’s warfare, particularly widows and the vulnerable, in order to make the country a haven for everyone.

Dr. Joyce Akumaa Dongotey-Padi has been working relentlessly for the past 13 years to help alleviate the problem of widows and the underprivileged in the country.
