The Omicron variant could jeopardise wage growth as predictions of increased pay are being drowned out by economic turbulence.
Economists had been predicted 2022 would see millions of workers see pay rises but just one week into the new year has seen those forecasts reviewed.
The Reserve Bank has indicated wages will grow to above two per cent this year and by three per cent in 2023, only marginally higher than inflation.
