The 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin in just under 300 days and 2022 Concacaf World Cup qualifying will return on Thursday. Concacaf gets three automatic berths into the world’s preeminent soccer tournament and a fourth team will have a chance to play their way in, making Mexico vs. Jamaica on Thursday evening a critical matchup. Mexico is currently third in the 2022 Concacaf World Cup qualifying table but is level on points with fourth-place Panama while Jamaica is sixth and looking to close a seven-point gap on the top four. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. on Thursday at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica. A draw comes in at +225, while the over-under for total goals scored is 2.5. Thursday’s match will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

CONCACAF World Cup qualifying picks for Mexico vs. Jamaica
Before you tune in to Thursday’s World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers picks from European soccer insider Martin Green. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $36,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.
For Mexico vs. Jamaica, Green is taking Mexico to win on the 90-minute money line at -155 odds. Mexico needed an 89th-minute goal from Henry Martin to squeak out a 2-1 win over Jamaica at Estadio Azteca in September but when you dive a bit deeper into the numbers, it’s pretty clear how dominant El Tri was in this matchup.
Mexico had 73 percent of the possession in that game and fired 27 shots compared to Jamaica’s five. Seven of those shots were on target while Jamaica only had one, though it was a Shamar Nicholson goal in the 65th minute. Expect a sharper Guillermo Ochoa after allowing the Nicholson goal and struggling in a Mexico losses to Canada and the USMNT back in November and for a strong side to overpower a Jamaican side that will be without Leon Bailey (thigh).
“Jamaica has a few MLS players in its ranks, along with players from some Championship teams in England, but it lacks the sort of quality that Mexico can call upon,” Green told SportsLine. “This will not be an easy game for Mexico, and it may struggle to contain (Michail) Antonio for 90 minutes, but it should have enough quality, experience and strength in depth to leave Kingston with all three points.”
