Arsenal are now leading the race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and that may well lead Liverpool to West Ham star Declan Rice.
Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition December 16th, page 23) claim that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is in prime position to bring the 27-year-old Liverpool target to the Emirates in the January transfer window for around €50 million (£43 million).
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to bring Milinkovic-Savic to Anfield according to a report from Calcio Mercato Web.
The German is reportedly also keen to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
So if Arsenal do win the race to sign Milinkovic-Savic, Liverpool’s attention will surely be centred on the Hammers ace.
There is a small chance that Rice will stay at the London Stadium. As interest grows in his signature though, Moyes’s task of keeping him at the club becomes harder and harder.
This may well be a long and hard transfer window ahead for West Ham…
Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition December 16th, page 23) reckon that the Gunners are in prime position to sign the Lazio midfield star this winter for around £43 million.
And if they do, it may well cause a domino effect that would see Declan Rice move to Liverpool.
Should Klopp miss out on the Serbia international, there is naturally more of a chance that he’ll go all in for Rice.
Bad times for West Ham indeed.
Personally I think that the 23-year-old Hammers star is a better player than Milinkovic-Savic. However, that doesn’t mean that the Serbian is not an elite talent – because he most definitely is.
Football Italia recently described the midfielder as an ‘unstoppable’ player. Meanwhile, The Laziali label him as ‘world-class’.
He seems to have all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League as well.
And with Arsenal said to be leading the race to sign Milinkovic-Savic, it may not be too long before we see him in England.
Unfortunately for us, that could end up meaning that Liverpool’s interest in Declan Rice intensifies.
