“Those detained in the hospital who thought they would miss Christmas. Let them know they will celebrate Christmas with their families. Ensure that nobody asks you to pay anything,” the governor added.
The governor stated that his government would continue taking care of the less fortunate differently, and clearing the hospital bills was only the beginning of his philanthropy.
He, nonetheless, reaffirmed that the county government had put in place measures, including setting up a talent, skills, and care docket to take care of vulnerable individuals in Nairobi county to continue his generous acts of service.
Giving an account of his childhood, Sakaja stated that growing up in Ngara, neighbours would support each other even with necessities like food and clothes, a culture that he wanted to bring back to the community.
“Let us be considerate and kind people. Growing up in Ngara, we would share food with neighbours, but over time we have become a different society. There are people today in Nairobi who do not even know their neighbours today “ Sakaja stated.
The governor added that it was time for Nairobi residents to care for and about one other, appealing to them to think about the less fortunate in their communities.
“Let us love one another. Let us be our brothers’ keepers. Let us look out for the person next to us. This Christmas, I want to appeal to Nairobi residents to think about the less fortunate.” stated the governor.
