Met Police have arrested a man on suspicion of possessing a lock knife after a stop and search incident in Southall.
Ealing Police were out on a patrol overnight and carried out a stop and search. The male suspect was allegedly in possession of a dangerous four-inch bladed weapon.
The suspect was remanded in custody pending further enquiries.
Police tweeted at 2.03am on Friday: “Today officers from the #WestAreaVSU Team 2 arrested a man in #Southall after a #StopSearch. The man was found in possession of a lock knife.
“At first glance looks like a multi tool, however it has a locking mechanism which could be quite lethal with the 4 inch blade. #Arrested.”
Gov.uk states: “The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife is four years in prison and an unlimited fine. You’ll get a prison sentence if you’re convicted of carrying a knife more than once.”
