Police attended the scene at 8.25am today after receiving reports of a person having fallen in East London. The London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police also attended. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident took place near Admirals Way in East London.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called at 8.25am on Wednesday, February 9 to reports of a person fallen in the area of Admirals Way, E14. Officers, London Ambulance Service and British Transport Police attended.
“At the scene, a 27-year-old man had fallen from a building onto railway lines.”
Eye witness reports on social media suggested that the DLR had stopped running towards Canary Wharf temporarily.
The man’s next of kin have been notified by emergency services, MyLondon reported.
The police have said the death is not suspicious and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
