A young child has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a window of a home in Lewisham. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at Mercy Terrace, on Algernon Road shortly after midday today (Monday, February 28).
An air ambulance also rushed to the scene and the child, described by the London Ambulance Service as an ‘infant’, was airlifted to a major trauma centre as a priority.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “The first of our medics arrived in under two minutes. We treated an infant at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
Police remain on the scene and officers are awaiting a condition update on the child.
