It turned out that Mitchell Robinson will miss more time for the New York Knicks.
In his appearance on “Good Morning New York” this Thursday, Knicks governor James Dolan announced that the big man will be out for four more weeks in his continuing recovery from a fractured right thumb surgery.
“The Knicks are doing well,” Dolan said, via Steve Popper of Newsday. “They’re not at the top of the league, but they’re not at the bottom and they’re in a playoff position now.
“We just lost a player — Mitchell Robinson — for four weeks and he was important to us. So we have to make it through the next four weeks.”
At first, the Knicks announced on Jan. 19 that Robinson will be sidelined and re-evaluated by three weeks after he underwent a successful surgery.
But with this latest update given by Dolan, it only means that coach Tom Thibodeau will continue sticking his faith on Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims in backing up star big man Julius Randle in maintaining their frontcourt.
Robinson, 24, is averaging 7.2 points in 67.4 percent shooting in 38 games this season. He is also registering a career best 8.9 rebounds per contest to go along with 1.8 blocks.
