South Australian Premier Steven Marshall says the state government is “prudent” with taxpayers’ money.
Mr Marshall said $288 million dollars is required for the government’s “election commitments”.
“We can do that because we already have many of the things which are critical to keep our economy moving built into the budget which returns to surplus next financial year,” he said.
He said the ratings agency took the state from the lowest-rated budget in the entire country – below Tasmania – to equal top with New South Wales.
“We are now in front of Victoria for the first time ever, and that’s something that all South Australians should be proud of.”
