In a new budget initiative, “disengaged and disadvantaged” youth will be given mentoring and learning experiences to help them enter the workforce.
The $46.8 million ReBoot program will deliver a pre-employment program to help an estimated 5,000 young people find jobs over the next four years.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg described the program as a “historic opportunity to get more people off welfare and into work”.
Employment and Acting Education Minister Stuart Robert says the program will directly target teenagers and young adults who don’t show a “positive attitude” or “reliability”.
