Australia survives without losing any more wickets to take a 47-run lead into stumps.
Definitely the best day of the tour so far for the Aussies, who’d have thought it after they lost the toss and had to bowl first earlier today.
It’s not often that India’s spinners are outbowled in their home conditions, but that’s exactly what happened today.
Matthew Kuhnemann, Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy were all excellent as India were rolled for just 109, their fourth-lowest score on home soil.
In response, India’s spin trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel weren’t able to have the same consistency in their lines and lengths.
Jadeja ended the day having taken all four wickets, continuing an excellent series, but he’ll need much more assistance from his spin teammates tomorrow.
India will not want to concede a lead of over 100 on this wicket. If they can get a few quick early wickets tomorrow, this match will well and truly be on.
