Toronto Blue Jays fans will miss a chance to boo Rougned Odor as the San Diego Padres designated the infielder for assignment hours before opening a series north of the border.
The Padres announced the move among a flurry of transactions before beginning a three-game set against the Blue Jays Tuesday night.

Odor has been a public enemy for Blue Jays fans for years, dating back to his days with the Texas Rangers. That rivalry hit a boiling point in May of 2016 when Odor punched Blue Jays star Jose Bautista after the veteran outfielder slid hard into second base.
Ever since that incident, Blue Jays fans have booed Odor anytime he’s come to Rogers Centre.
This season with the Padres Odor hit .210/.306/.370 with four home runs in 59 games.
You can watch the Blue Jays face the Padres on Sportsnet and SN NOW. First pitch will fly just after 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT.
