The Abbotsford courthouse and adjacent businesses were shut down Monday morning after police received a bomb threat, which it later deemed to be “non-credible.”

The bomb threat was made by a male caller just before 9:15 a.m., reporting two bombs at the Abbotsford Law Courts at 32375 Veterans Way, said police.

The caller did not identify himself or provide details of the threats.
Police evacuated the courthouse and two neighbouring businesses as it investigated the threat.
Veterans Way and sections of Trethewey Street between George Ferguson Way and Simon Avenue were also closed off as officers, along with canine units, cleared the building and surrounding areas.
Following a two-hour investigation, police determined the bomb threat was a hoax. They do not yet know the identity of the caller.
