The Toronto Blue Jays have activated right-handed pitcher Trevor Richards from the 15-day injured list, the club announced Sunday morning.
Richards, who had been suffering from neck strains, will be active for Sunday’s series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The 29-year-old has a 2-1 record for the Jays this season, threw 33 strikeouts and held a 6.59 ERA in 28.2 innings pitched.
Additionally, the Blue Jays announced that they have optioned right-hander Thomas Hatch to triple-A Buffalo. Hatch was the starting pitcher in Toronto’s 11-5 loss to the Rays in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
