Orlando Pirates and Pitso Mosimane have been shortlisted for the 2022 CAF men’s awards.
After winning the CAF Champions League with his former club Al Ahly on two occasions, Mosimane has been nominated alongside Carlos Queiroz, Tom Saintfiet and Walid Regragui and Alliou Cisse for the continent’s most prestigious coaching award.
Meanwhile, Pirates have been nominated in the Club of the Year category. The Buccaneers were rampant as they managed to make their way to the 2021/22 CAF Confederations Cup final, despite being beaten by RS Berkane.
The Soweto giants are up against Petro Atletico (Angola), Al Ahly (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco) for the top award.
Percy Tau has also been nominated for the CAF Awards, in the category of Interclub Player of the Year.
The CAF Awards 2022 will be held on 21 July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the final of the Women’s African Cup of Nations, in which Banyana Banyana have progressed to the competition’s quarterfinals.
