Evacuation orders due to torrential rain in parts of Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, were lifted early Wednesday morning.
Tokigawa Town issued the order to all its residents on Tuesday evening. Its population is a little over 10,000.
Higashimatsuyama City had earlier urged nearly 14,000 people in 18 districts to evacuate.
Evacuation orders are the second-highest heavy rain alerts on a five-stage scale.
