With the class of 2023 concluding the National Senior Certificate examinations this week, thousands of pupils across the country are gearing up to attend various festivals and parties to celebrate the end of their 12-year school career.
More than 10 000 are expected to make their way to two of the biggest and most popular festivals in Durban, Ballito and Umhlanga for the Rage Festival and Plett Rage in Plettenberg in the Western Cape.
The Department of Basic Education’s director for social cohesion in schools, Likho Bottoman, said they were “anxious” about the pens down period.
