Are you looking for some creative excitement for your children for half-term? Or do you fancy trying a one-off course for yourself?
Half-term children’s courses and workshops for adults go on sale this week at the Conservatoire in Blackheath.
Loosely based around the exciting theme, A Space Odyssey, they’re a great way to try a new skill or dip your toes back into artistic waters and to offer your children fun and educational workshops in art, music, and dance to keep them entertained and inspired whilst they’re off school.
All you need to do is call 020 8852 0234 or just visit reception where the lovely front-of-house team will get you sorted.
Courses range from two hours to a full day and start from just three years of age and deliver guaranteed new skills and fun.
There are courses inspired by artists, including big names – Picasso, Pollock and Matisse – and the less famous but equally interesting MC Escher, Bridget Riley and Rasheed Areen.
Specific skills covered on courses include portraiture, collage, sculpture, drawing, painting and creative dance, with an eclectic range of space-themed inspirations, including robots, astronauts and rockets.
The music offering provides focused workshops for all ages, on instruments including piano, guitar and ukulele.
Available are opportunities to play in a supportive group and focused exam preparation sessions from our highly experienced tutors who work across and are familiar with a range of exam boards.
Adults can try short courses in watercolour painting, pottery, resin jewellery and bookbinding and take home stunning keepsakes.
If you’re familiar with the Conservatoire you can work with many of their regular wonderful tutors, who are all practising creatives, alongside being teachers.
They’ll be joined be a handful of talented new ones, from the Royal Academy and Royal Watercolour Society.
Courses sell out fast, so don’t delay, check the website and book today. https://www.conservatoire.org.uk/halfterm
