Elon Musk has shared a photo in an attempt to counter rumours he had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the estranged wife of Google co-founder, Sergey Brin.
Posting to Twitter, the Tesla billionaire, 51, shared a photo of himself with Brin, the pair smiling and enjoying themselves at a house party.
Explaining the photo, he told the New York Post, “Took this pic only two hours ago.”

Rumours of an affair were circulated by the Wall Street Journal, who alleged Musk had a brief liaison with Shanahan in December, reportedly sparking Brin, 48, to file for divorce in January this year.
Musk has strongly denied the claims, and even declared his innocence on Twitter.
“This [report] is total bs,” he wrote.
“Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”

In papers obtained by the WSJ, Brin cited “irreconcilable differences” when he filed papers at the Santa Clara County Superior Court in California.
Those close to Brin tell the outlet he filed for divorce several weeks after learning of the alleged affair.
Brin and Shanahan also share a daughter, who was born in 2018, and he asked to share custody in his divorce filing.
Musk further denied the rumours to the New York Post, writing in an email, “Nicole and Sergey’s divorce has absolutely nothing to do with me.”
“I am sure both Nicole and Sergey would confirm that. I spoke with both Sergey and Nicole about this and they say the story isn’t coming from them, so [it] must be a case of broken telephone, two or three layers removed,” he said.
“And, not to dodge the question, I have only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around.”
