The Sixer Sense Podcast returns after a short break to share more opinions on recent events related to the Sixers. We look to predict which players will emerge from NBA Summer League play to make the Delaware Blue Coats roster, and we also seek to offer opinions on how we feel about a new stadium to be constructed in Center City. We start things off though with the news of James Harden agreeing to a deal.
The Sixer Sense Podcast: Episode 203
This past week, the seven-time All-Star and three-time scoring champion agreed to a two-year $68.6 million deal with the Sixers. This decision by James Harden freed up money for the 76ers to go out and get other players who could bolster the roster. We have a conversation about his willingness to make a financial sacrifice for the Sixers, knowing how maligned he’s been since forcing his way out of Houston and Brooklyn.
The podcast then attempts to make predictions about which young players from summer league will make it to the next level. We discuss if players like Cassius Winston, Aminu Mohammed, or Malik Ellison will have a chance to play for the Delaware Blue Coats in the fall.
Next, the conversation shifts to the idea that Matisse Thybulle is on the verge of getting traded before the season starts. The podcast addresses the comments made by Daryl Morey and Doc Rivers after the post-season, and we predict if he will get an extension from the Sixers before he becomes a restricted free agent next summer.
The final topic the podcast brings up has to do with the announcement from Sixers ownership that a new stadium will be constructed for the team. The concept seems to divide the fanbase. While some see the move to Center City as a great idea, others like the current location of where the Sixers play. We discuss factors like transportation, traffic, and convenience for Sixers fans should the new 76ers home be moved downtown.
