A former United Parcel Service (UPS) worker has been accused of stealing $1.3 million worth of Apple products over the course of a decade.

Court documents show that between July 2023 and January 2024, 30-year-old Orville Martirez Beltrano allegedly stole approximately 866 Apple products, valued at $1.3 million, from a UPS warehouse on King Edward Street, where he worked since 2013 as a local sorting supervisor until his employment with UPS was terminated in January.
Beltrano allegedly then sold the products on Kijiji, taking payments in cash or e-transfers.
Key evidence in the case includes cash deposits of more than $230k into his bank accounts, and the unexplained funding of a $630k home purchase and repayment of a $60k car loan.
Police arrested Beltrano in January, and have charged him with theft, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of property obtained by crime.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the thefts during a videotaped police interview, further admitting that cash seized from his vehicle also came from the sale of stolen Apple devices.
Police have applied to a court to seize Beltrano’s home, car, cash, and the contents of his bank accounts.
