American Legion Post 136 held its installation of officers Sunday July 24 for 2022/23. All of the Legion family groups (Legion, Auxiliary, The Sons and The Riders) enjoyed the installation and said farewell to outgoing Commander Ed Mitchell, and Auxiliary President Angie Romero, as well as the Riders Director Don Barber. They have served the Legion and the community well and shall be missed.
The Post welcomes Don Shattuck as the new commander of the American Legion; Tracy Wentz, the new president for the Auxiliary; and Chuck Warren, director of the Riders. Jessie Romero will remain the S.A.L. commander.

The island American Legion and its family units, as well as its membership, is totally made up of volunteers and continues to grow, thrive and contribute to veterans and veteran related programs for veterans and their families, as well as helping the community. Islanders helps to make this happen by continuing to contribute to legion events and fundraisers, which is much appreciated.
