South African umpire Rudi Koertzen died in an accident on Tuesday. He was 73.
Koertzen was on his way home from Cape Town after a golf weekend.
Koertzen officiated in his first international fixture in 1992, when India toured South Africa at the age of 43.
He became a full-time International Cricket Council (ICC) umpire in 1997.
In 2002, he became a member of the ICC elite panel. He was only the second umpire after Steve Bucknor to officiate in more than 200 ODIs and 100 Tests.
Koertzen retired from international umpiring in 2010.
