The first Qantas flight between Darwin and London has left the Top End.
The flight departed on Monday night.
The historic journey came after the airline struck a deal with the Northern Territory government to base its direct London service in the Top End, after the Western Australian government refused to operate it from Perth.
Qantas has opened a new international lounge for passengers as they transit through Darwin to capital cities.
The flights will operate between London and Darwin until at least April next year.
