“You know, they call me the crypto-president, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but a lot of people are saying that,” Trump said in the video in which he delivered the exciting news.
On purchase of 15 digital cards, one will get a physical trading card with an authentic piece of the suit that he wore on the presidential debate. “People are calling it ‘the knock-out’ suit – I don’t know about that – but that’s what they’re calling it,” Trump said. He said he would be randomly signing five of the physical cards. “This is something to give your family, your kids, your grandchildren,” he said.
Those who buy 75 digital cards will get an invite to a “gala dinner” at his country club in Jupiter, Florida.
Social media users wondered whether he was in such a dire need of fund that he started selling portions of his suit.
“From NFT cards, hats, golden sneakers, a signed Bible, and now he sells a $99 picture book. The grift never stops,” Republicans against Trump posted. “Imagine voting for this fraudster,” it added.
“So Trump supporters say they can’t afford groceries but they can buy a $100 set of Trump trading cards? Are they dumb or just liars?” one wrote.
“This is NOT AI. This is an ad that former President Trump just released, trying to profit off of his presidency by selling gimmicky trading cards to people. Once again, this is not AI. This is a real commercial in the midst of him running for President. This is not to raise money for his campaign, but to raise money for himself,” another wrote.
“Does Donald Trump ever stop grifting off of his supporters? He’s pushing those worthless trading cards again,” one wrote. “Latest presidential candidate grift: Trump is pushing fans to get a swath of his ‘knock-out’ debate suit — seriously — along with digital trading cards,” journalist Carla Marinucci wrote.
