The Nothing Phone (4a) lineup is complete in our office! We now have both units side-by-side, so we can better show you the nuanced differences. The Phone (4a) Pro stands out from its vanilla counterpart on looks alone, and it becomes more impressive when you hold it.
The flashiest comparison revolves around the Glyph interface – it’s a simple Glyph bar on the non-Pro and a full-on circular dot matrix display on the Pro. Getting technical for a bit, the Pro has 137 LEDs, while the regular has just 63. As you can imagine, you can do all sorts of clever stuff with the Glyph Matrix on the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro – animating your timer, different callers, you can even use it as a selfie display for the main camera, though it’s very hard to distinguish just what you’re seeing.

Probably the bigger differentiator between (4a) phones is the build materials. The vanilla has a plastic body, while the Pro ups the stakes to a full metal unibody. It’s the same weight as the plastic phone, but is a few millimeters thinner at just under 8mm.

Speaking of the display, it’s another distinction between the two phones. Aside from being just over an inch larger, the screen on the Pro is also slightly brighter, and faster at 144Hz (vs 120Hz).
Finally, let’s unbox the Pro. Like the regular Phone (4a), it ships with a USB-C cable, a see-through case, and Nothing’s geeky SIM tool, which looks sort of like a fuse. The Phone (4a) Pro comes in three colors – Black, Silver, and Pink, and in three configurations – 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB. Prices start from €480//£500/₹40,000/$500.
