An alert has been issued by NSW Health after several Covid cases were linked to multiple locations of a popular gym chain.
The health department revealed on Tuesday that 11 new cases were associated with Barry’s Bootcamp gyms in Sydney’s Kings Cross, Surry Hills and Martin Place.
Gym-goers who attended classes of concern were being contacted by NSW Health, however all patrons who frequent the gyms have been urged to monitor themselves for symptoms.
Both the Kings Cross and Surry Hills locations were listed as possible transmission sites for the entirety of each day between October 30 and November 4.
Anyone who visited on those days were urged to get tested immediately and self isolate until they received a negative result.
An email sent to Barry’s Bootcamp members reassured members that classes would continue to operate as normal for fully vaccinated patrons, according to 7 News.
“As per guidance from NSW Health, our studios have remained open and continue to follow our strict safety measures and cleaning protocols, including professional cleaning of equipment and studios between classes and fully disinfecting studios multiple times throughout the day,” part of the email read.
NSW recorded 222 new locally acquired cases of Covid-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Monday.
An incredible 90 per cent of people in NSW aged 16 and above were now fully vaccinated against the virus.
