The Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Media Strategy and Communication, Abdullahi Zuru, has declared that Governor Nasir Idris has performed credibly well and deserves to be re-elected for a second term in 2027.
Zuru made the declaration yesterday while responding to questions from journalists who paid him a courtesy visit. He said the assessment was based on the governor’s record of delivery across key sectors since assuming office in 2023.
“Since the creation of Kebbi State, we have never had it this good,” Zuru said. “The governor has touched every sector and the impact is visible to the people.”
According to him, the Idris administration has prioritised the economy, infrastructural development, education, health, workers’ welfare, and human capital development. He noted that the interventions were designed to directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
On infrastructure, the media aide said the government has embarked on road projects, urban renewal, and rural development programmes aimed at opening up communities and boosting commerce across the 21 local government areas of the state.
“In education and health, we have seen massive investments in schools, primary healthcare centres, and the welfare of teachers and health workers,” he added. “Workers’ salaries are paid as and when due, and their welfare is receiving serious attention.”
Zuru further stated that the governor’s approach to governance has restored public confidence in government. He said the administration runs an open-door policy that allows citizens to feel the presence of government at all levels.
Calling on voters in the state, he urged them to rally behind the governor ahead of the next election. “I encourage the good people of Kebbi State to support Governor Nasir Idris and ensure he returns for a second term so that the good work can continue,” he said.
The Special Adviser also took a swipe at some politicians in the state, saying they lacked the pedigree to challenge the governor’s record.
“Some of them have held positions at state and federal levels before, yet they have no track record to show for it,” Zuru stated. “Leadership is about results, and the results are there for everyone to see.”
He noted that with the current momentum, Kebbi is on the path of sustainable development, and continuity under Governor Idris remains the best option for the people of the state.
