Kylie Jenner is officially the first non-Victoria’s Secret Angel to model the lingerie brand’s iconic Fantasy Bra — but why was she chosen for the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show?
Jenner, 29, made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut on Sunday October 18, donning the new $50 million bra and a pair of feathered wings. Previous Fantasy Bra models include Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Candice Swanepoel.
“Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing,” Victoria’s Secret chief creative officer Adam Selman told Vogue in an interview published on Sunday. “That’s the exact same thing that we do. Like, the show is so big, it’s true entertainment, and I think that she is a great catalyst for that.”
The Fantasy Bra returned on Sunday following an eight-year absence from the fashion show. While some fans questioned the decision not to use a legacy Angel, Selman said the “big idea for the show was fandomonium.”
“She’s really created her own culture,” he continued. “How many people can say that?”
Before Jenner walked down the runway, the creative team brainstormed about her involvement. “I think it’s an interesting pairing that we’re giving the fans: we’re giving them what they want with this amazing Fantasy Bra, and we’re going to put it on an unexpected talent who has a massive following and massive cultural impact,” he explained.
Selman added: “I think it’s fun. I think it’s really joyful, and I think it’s fun to celebrate in a different way that people aren’t going to expect.”
According to Selman, this year’s Fantasy Bra was “almost museum quality.” The bra weighed nearly 4 pounds and took 15 Jacob & Co. craftspeople more than 1,000 hours to build. (Jacob and Co. later revealed via Instagram that the jewel-encrusted bra included 3,218 individually cast parts and 4,410 natural diamonds, with a singular 75.54-carat yellow diamond worth $22 million positioned in the middle.)
“Remember, this bra is made entirely of gold and diamonds — there is no fabric,” designer Jacob Arabo told Vogue. “So getting the right fit and making sure it could move naturally with the body was not easy.”
Arabo explained that the “biggest challenge was making sure the bra was comfortable to wear while keeping true to the design.”
“Even with exact measurements, what looks good on paper doesn’t always work the same way on the body,” Arabo continued. “Every curve, every diamond, and every piece of gold had to be carefully placed so the bra would be both beautiful and comfortable.”
