Lagos is poised to become the heartbeat of Africa’s digital economy as Digital Creator Africa (DCA) stages the Digital Creator Africa Summit 2025 on September 18 at the Landmark Event Centre.
Themed “Monetize Your Creativity,” the summit promises to be a defining moment for Africa’s content creators, digital storytellers, and filmmakers, offering practical pathways to transform talent into sustainable and profitable ventures.
The summit is being held as part of the Africa Creative Market (ACM), the continent’s foremost platform dedicated to advancing the business of creativity. It comes at a critical time when Africa’s creator economy, currently valued at $3.08 billion (2023), is projected to exceed $17.8 billion by 2030. Despite this rapid growth, most creators across the continent still earn below ₦100,000 ($65) per month, hindered by lack of access to monetisation tools, platforms, and global networks.
Convener Ifeoma ‘Oma’ Areh said the summit was designed to address this imbalance. “The talent is here. The audience is global. What’s missing for most creators is the bridge between creativity and cash flow. At DCA Summit 2025, we’re building that bridge with insights, tech, connections, and real-world monetisation strategies that creators can apply instantly. Whether it’s content creation, AI, digital filmmaking, or brand deals, we’re giving creators the blueprint,” she explained.
Her vision was echoed by Dr. Sarah Inya Lawal, Founder of Africa Creative Market, who emphasised the broader significance of the summit. “This summit represents everything ACM stands for, creating platforms where African creativity can thrive economically. When we bring together the continent’s most innovative creators with global industry leaders, we’re not just facilitating conversations; we’re building the infrastructure for Africa’s creative future,” she said.
The star-studded lineup reflects this ambition. The opening keynote will be delivered by Chude Jideonwo, focusing on “Africa’s Creator Economy: Unlocking Monetisation Opportunities.” Other spotlight sessions will feature Tomike Adeoye on creator-led branding, Chichi Nworah on building scalable African entertainment businesses, Malik Afegbua on AI-powered creativity, and Obi Asika on scaling Nigeria’s cultural economy.
Panels will provide practical, hands-on strategies for participants. “From Creator to Creative Entrepreneur,” moderated by Yolanda Okereke, will feature top voices including Tosin Ajibade (OloriSupergal), Winifred Nwania (Zeelicious Foods), Yemisi Odusanya (Sisi Yemmie), and David I. Adeleke. Another panel, “The Monetizable Brand Techniques,” will unpack strategies for sponsorships and influence with experts such as Orji Emmanuel Tyla, Ayobami Oyakele, and Samuel Ayobami.
Further highlights include sessions on brand partnerships led by leading executives, a discussion on community-driven growth through user-generated content, and a panel on streaming success featuring Ariyike Olowolagba, Bolaji Ogunmola, Damilola Dawson, Athi Petela, and Jesimiel Damina.
