Two counts of money laundering have been added to the charge sheet in the case of five of the seven men accused of the murder of celebrated rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend, businessman Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane in February 2023.
Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead outside the now-defunct Wish on Florida restaurant in Durban.
Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi (30), Lindani Ndimande (35), Siyanda Myeza (21), Mziwethemba Gwabeni (36) and Lindokuhle Ndimande (29) appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
News24 previously reported that the accused received R800 000 for the hit, which was distributed amongst them.
KwaZulu-Natal Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Elvis Gcweka told Magistrate VV Hlatshwayo that Gwabeni had been charged in connection with allegations that he received the money and then distributed it to the four others.

The four others are accused of receiving illegally obtained funds. The 12 charges against the accused include murder and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The case was postponed to 14 March for the accused’s bail application.
Two other accused in the matter, brothers Siyabonga (28) and Malusi Ndimande (28), appeared in the Manzini District Court in Eswatini on Tuesday for South Africa’s bid to have them extradited.
Their matter was postponed to 12 March to give the State the opportunity to file complete extradition documents.
