President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Saturday followed up on several new projects of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) nationwide and the construction of a new dairy factory during a meeting with the NSPO’s leaders.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the NSPO Walid Abul-Magd, Chairperson of the National Company for Animal Production Mohamed Salah, Chairperson of the Al-Delta Company for Meat and Cattle Bashir Farid, and businessman Mohammed Halawa, who specializes in the food and dairy industries.
In this context, the construction developments of the dairy factory in Borg El Arab were reviewed, especially installing equipment and production lines, which was carried out in partnership with the private sector. The factory was built on an area of 40,000 square metres, and its production capacity will reach 12,000 tonnes of cheese annually.
The President directed to scrutinize all components of the factory, whether raw materials, production requirements, and packaging materials to ensure high quality.
The President also directed to continue strengthening efforts to establish advanced milk collection centres nationwide while improving laboratories, storage facilities, and veterinary services, to reduce dependence on imports and achieve an added value for small breeders.
The meeting also witnessed the presentation of the executive position of the partnership between Egypt and Jordan for developing livestock and food production to cover the local market’s needs.
