May is National Teacher Appreciation month, and the American Legion Post 67 Family donated a pizza lunch for the teachers at Sistersville Elementary School as an expression of their appreciation for all they do for the children of our community. Members of the American Legion recognize the crucial role teachers play in the lives of young people and place great value on their efforts. In the words of one member, “These teachers are heroes!”

Every day during Teacher Appreciation Week several businesses and groups joined forces to provide a celebratory lunch for the dedicated teachers and staff at Sistersville Elementary School. It is a small way to honor and say thank you for their hard work throughout the school year.
The business and groups included: Monday Domino’s Pizza, sponsored by Sistersville Post 67 American Legion Family. Tuesday Sub Sandwiches, sponsored by Safe at Home, Home Health Care along with Dorothy Milhoan, CEO, and Dr. Keith Milhoan of Milhoan Family Dentistry. Wednesday Undos, sponsored by Sistersville Elementary School PTSO. Thursday Sandwiches and Salads, sponsored by Sistersville Baptist Church. Friday Stuffed Shells, Bread and Salad, sponsored by Tyler County Board of Education member Katrina Byers and Tyler County Family Resource Network, Jill Ash, Director. Drinks have been provided all week by sponsors Sistersville County Club, Sistersville IGA, Fellowship Church and New Martinsville McDonalds offering orange juice, pop and sweet tea.
The staff at SES wishes to express sincere thanks to all sponsors. It was an enjoyable experience having lunch provided each day. The teachers and staff truly believe working at SES is an honor and privilege.
