A Mirrabooka man will face a string of charges in court over a fatal motorcycle crash in which a female pillion passenger was left for dead after the rider allegedly fled the scene.
Anthony Ninyette, 30, was arrested in Westminster on Friday afternoon — three-days after the Girrawheen crash that claimed the life of Rianne Clark.
The 31-year-old woman had been a passenger on the Yamaha R1 motorcycle on Tuesday about 4pm when she was thrown off the back of the bike at the intersection of Beach Road and Redcliffe Avenue.
Mr Ninyette has been charged with dangerous driving causing death in circumstances of aggravation, failing to stop to assist in an incident which caused death, and failure to report a death.
The accused is expected to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Police had initially made a public plea for information on Mr Ninyette’s location after he was last seen in the Landsdale area on Tuesday evening.
WA Police released footage of the moment Rapid Apprehension Squad officers took Mr Ninyette into custody on Friday afternoon, confirming he would be assisting the Major Crash probe.
