Arthur (Art) D. Kriemelmeyer Jr. Arthur (Art) Dietrich Kriemelmeyer, Jr., of Harpers Ferry passed away June 27 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV. Born July 31, 1937 in Washington, DC, he was the eldest son of the late Arthur “Otts” Kriemelmeyer and Eleanor (Boehs) Kriemelmeyer. He graduated Calvin Coolidge High School in 1955 and served in the United States Navy. Art worked the construction industry with his own company, Potomac Shenandoah Associates. He married Barbara (MacDonald) in 1967 and later moved to Shannondale, WV where he was active in the community and the Shannondale Club. Art was well known for his enjoyment of shooting sports and his love of Labrador retrievers.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Kriemelmeyer, and Barbara, his wife of 43 years. He is survived by his daughter Angela Moore (Andy) of Cumming, GA, sons Allan (Christine) of Wilton, CT, and Andrew of Lititz, PA, two grandchildren Danielle and Matthew Kriemelmeyer, sister- in-law Joan Cluett (David), nephew Sean Cluett and niece Carrie Cluett of Dartmouth, NS, CA, and two brothers-in-law Lee MacDonald and Allan MacDonald.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the friends and caregivers who helped Arthur remain at his home and lead an independent life in his later years.
Family and friends will be received at a memorial service at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home on July 30, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers or other sentiments, the family welcomes donations to the Jefferson County Council on Aging (JCCOA), Meals on Wheels of Jefferson County or Hospice of the Panhandle.
