Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have already started their recruitment drive ahead of the next season, reportedly already signing three players.

Chiefs have already confirmed the signing of SuperSport United centre back Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, while also being thought to have signed Mduduzi Mdantsane and Given Msimango.

At the end of the previous season, Chiefs made a massive clear out, getting rid of some experienced players, some of which had not been able to lead Amakhosi to any silverware during their lengthy stays at the club. It is expected that they will also undergo a similar exodus that could see several players forced through the exit door.

A lot of the players that were released by Chiefs were over 30-years-old with the majority never winning a trophy while at the club. Besides the Bernard Parker, the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Leonardo Castro and Daniel Akpeyi had never touched any silverware during their careers at the club.

After that, Chiefs invested in players who were either younger or in their prime years, like Ashley du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, George Matlou, Dillon Solomons and Yusuf Maart to name but a few. With acquisition of Ditlhokwe, 24, Msimango, 26 and Mdantsane, approach has since proven to be a consistent one from Arthur Zwane and his coaching staff.

The latest player linked to a move to Chiefs is SuperSport midfielder Jamie Webber who is 25. It is clear that he too, fits the bill and now a source speaking to The Citizen has given an insight of what Zwane’s transfer strategy is at Amakhosi.
Chiefs strategy revealed?
“He (Arthur) wants to build a team full of young players who are fearless and can deliver at the same time, that’s his plan and he believes it will work for Chiefs. You can tell with the players who are playing at the moment like Mdu (Mduduzi Shabalala) and Samkelo (Zwane).” The source told the same publication.
