In an historic moment, inaugural Islamic prayers were held at the official home of the Bantams in Valley Parade, Bradford, on Thursday 23rd February.
The multi-faith room, an initiative led by Regal Food Products Group Plc in partnership with Bradford City AFC, creates a quiet space for prayer and reflection for the staff of BCAFC and for those attending match days.
Officially declared ‘open’ with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Regal Food’s CEO Younis Chaudhry, he then led the first prayers at Asr time with special guests, including Nadim Hanif CEO Asian Express.
Davide Longo, Chief Commercial Officer of Bradford City AFC commented: “We are proud to have opened this impressive new facility at the University of Bradford Stadium, and would like to thank our friends at Regal Foods for their fantastic contribution.
“Inclusion and diversity are key values we uphold as a club, and it remains a constant focus of ours to continue making Bradford City AFC as accessible as possible, in every way.”
Nadim Hanif, CEO of Asian Express, who was invited to attend the inaugural prayers says: “Another fantastic initiative led by the Regal Foods team! This is a definitively positive step towards diversity and inclusion for Valley Parade. Congratulations to all involved.”
