Tianjin (dpa) – German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in the port city of Tianjin on Thursday for her inaugural visit to China. In this city to the southeast of the capital Beijing, she plans among other things to sit in on a lesson at a Pasch partner school and to visit a German company that produces wind turbines. The main political talks are scheduled to take place in Beijing on Friday.
According to the initiative, the Pasch project “Schools: Partners for the Future”, which was launched by the Federal Foreign Office in 2008, links up more than 2,000 schools around the world at which the German language is given particular priority. The Pasch partners provide head teachers, ministries and schools with advice about developing German lessons. Experts are sent to support the schools at the local level and help them expand their German lessons.
