Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally out now on PS5. After bagging itself a Metacritic rating of 96 on PC, it’s doing even better on Sony’s console. The PS5 version presently holds a rating of 97, making it the system’s highest-rated game to date. A significant success for the team over at Larian Studios.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has become a significant financial success for the studio. They have essentially done so to deliver a finished product that eliminates many gaming industries’ desire to have microtransactions to expand the game. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a true success for video games in the biggest and best way.
What Is Baldur’s Gate 3?
Larian Studios created and released the role-playing video game Baldur’s Gate 3. It is the third main game in the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game-inspired Baldur’s Gate series. A partial version of the game was released in early access in October 2020 before being released this year.
Baldur’s Gate is a role-playing video game containing a single-player and cooperative multiplayer component. To explore the game’s plot, players can create one or more characters and assemble a party with various pre-generated characters. Players can choose to take one of their characters and establish an online party with other players using that character.
The game has a branching narrative in which the main storyline remains unchanged regardless of the player’s decisions. However, there is much variation in the details, particularly regarding the numerous side tasks. Players can choose from some pre-made “origin characters” that can be customized or build an original character from scratch that is effectively a “blank slate” in terms of their backstory at the start of the game.
While the game is not yet out on Xbox systems, it is set to release there sometime in the future.
