Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan handed in his resignation on Saturday, two days after Bangladesh’s new interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in. The resignation came after fresh protests broke out on the premises of the Supreme Court, with demonstrators calling for top judges to step down.
