Former President of the Republic, John Agyekum Kufuor has hailed Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his vision to train 1 million Ghanaian youth in digital skills.
This is a part of Dr. Bawumia’s policies to create over 4 million jobs for the youth under his Presidency.
Dr. Bawumia is optimistic that training 1 million young Ghanaians in digital skills will boost his quest to make Ghana a digital hub of Africa and also create more international opportunities for the youth.
Former President Kufuor, in an interview with Asempa FM, said in an era where technology has become indispensable globally, training the youth in digital skills will help them immensely.
“He has mentioned that he will train 1 million youth in digital training. You could be here and get an outsourcing job in the USA and get paid…It is not always that the government has to build factories and employ people. No, it is the private sector.”
“Bawumia’s proposal seeks to give our young people the needed education and skill training so that they can also be ready for the global market”, former President Kufour emphasized.
