According to rumors, Chelsea and Manchester United have expressed interest in Red Bull Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko.
The 19-year-old Slovenian international is wanted by Salzburg for more than £50 million, but United could have signed him in 2019 for as little as £2.5 million.
Sesko’s agents have met with both clubs, who now have Newcastle as a rival for Sesko’s signature in the Premier League.
Despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle, Sesko has reportedly decided to stay at Salzburg for the 2022–23 season, according to Sky Sport Austria.
In order to take the leap like Erling Haaland, Benjamin Sesko intends to remain in Salzburg for an additional year. Reporter Marko Stankovic with Sky Sport Austria remarked.
That is Sesko’s strategy. We’ll discuss an extremely nice transfer next year.
Erik ten Hag is focused on attacking Sesko since he has to beef up his frontline’s weaponry.
Romelu Lukaku left Chelsea for Inter Milan this summer, and the club is also without a primary striker.
Sesko, a 6’4″ forward who turned 19 in May of this year, has already played 13 times for Slovenia and scored two goals.
In all competitions last season, he scored 11 goals, and in a preseason friendly victory over Liverpool, he scored the game’s lone goal.
Although it’s definitely too early for him, every club is considering waiting another year and spending an additional £20 million after seeing what Liverpool paid for Darwin Nunez. According to a recent iNews source.
Salzburg is not promoting a sale since Sesko is necessary for the Champions League. But that’s not the same as the player not being up for sale and being open to bids.
The Austrian Bundesliga is currently being won by Salazburg, who have won it each year since 2013–14.
