American music icon, Beyoncé has officially released her much-awaited album.
Beyoncé announced the release of the album on July 29, 2022.
The 16-track album is a follow-up to Lemonade which she released six years ago.
Renaissance features contributions from several A-list stars including Queen B’s rapper and billionaire husband, Jay-Z. Also featuring on the album are: Drake, Skrillex, Grace Jones, 070 Shake.
The album cover sighted by www.africanentertainment.com on Beyoncé official Instagram page, features the beautiful singer and former Destiny Child’s bandmate sitting atop a silver holographic horse, wearing a custom diamond-encrusted body harness.
Renaissance is the first installment of a “three act project” and its lead single is “Break My Soul”.
Jamaica-born, Miami-raised reggae artist Beam was featured on “Energy.”
Also, Grace Jones and Nigeria’s Tems were featured on “Move.”
Queen B spent nearly three years recording the Renaissance album. She recorded Renaissance over the course of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement released to the media, Beyonce observed that “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”
She added in her statement sighted by www.africanentertainment.com that “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
