A multi-vehicle crash has forced the closure of the A102 Blackwall Tunnel in the Southbound direction, leading to two miles of queuing traffic and long delays.
The collision involving three cars happened at around 2.30pm between A13, Poplar, and Greenwich, according to Inrix traffic management system, causing congestion before the Bow interchange and back to the A112, Prince Regent Lane, on the A13.
A motorist claimed on social media that they had seen three fire engines driving to the scene in Greenwich. They added that they had been stuck in traffic since 2.45pm and were then told to turnaround at 3.45pm because the tunnel will be “shut for hours”.
